Andrew Faas, founder of The Faas Foundation, announces a joint initiative with the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence to create the Emotion Revolution in the Workplace.
In order to explore bullying and wellness in the workplace and to create methods to assess psychological health and eliminate the unnecessary stress factors, the nonprofit Faas Foundation launched the Initiative to Create Psychologically Healthy Workplaces.
The national advocacy and education organisation Mental Health America is involved in a long-term project addressing workplace bullying and mental health. Preliminary results from the group's survey work found that 80 per cent of people who feel they are in an "unhelpful or hostile work environment" say they prefer to work alone rather than in teams.
When Andrew Faas was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005, he found hope in the form of a drug fresh off of its clinical trials. Instead of going through the possible torture of chemotherapy and radiation, Faas treated his condition by taking a pill a day.
